Congratulations to the girls' track & field team on finishing their section schedule undefeated and bringing home their first ever section title!  Way to go Panthers!

WRESTLERS BRING HOME MORE STATE GOLD

Devin Brown - 113lb - State Champion (3-time champ)
Spencer Lee - 120lb - State Champion (2-time champ)
Michael Kemerer - 145lb - State Champion
Josh Shields - 160lb - State Champion

Also medaling at the championship

Dom Giannangeli - 138lb - 4th Place
Josh Maruca - 152lb - 2nd Place

The four champions ties a PIAA record.  The Panthers also broke a state record by accumulating the most total team points to gather their second consecutive team title.  Coach Eric Mausser also earned his second consecutive AAA coach of the year award.

THE GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING TEAM EARNED YET ANOTHER SECTION TITLE BY VIRTUE OF THEIR WIN OVER KISKI AREA.  THIS MARKS THEIR 8TH SECTION TITLE OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS.  WAY TO GO PANTHERS!

PIAA STATE CHAMPIONS

THE PANTHER WRESTLING TEAM FOLLOWED UP THEIR WPIAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A THRILLING RUN THROUGH THE PIAA PLAYOFFS. THE RUN CULMINATED WITH A CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY OVER CUMBERLAND VALLEY.  THIS IS THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE STATE TITLE IN THE TOUGHEST WRESTLING STATE IN AMERICA.  WAY TO GO PANTHERS!!

Franklin Regional Student-Athletes in grades 7-12 can compete in 14 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association(PIAA) recognized sports.

 
District 7, better known as the WPIAL(Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League), is 1 of 12 districts governed by the Constitution and By-Laws of the PIAA.

Competing in the WPIAL, boys & girls from Franklin Regional compete against students from 143 districts in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland, & other surrounding counties.
