Mrs Ritsons ASL Class visits Newlonsburg Elementary

On Wednesday, October 13, 2004 Mrs. Ritson’s 8th grade American Sign Language class went over to Newlonsburg Elementary to teach Mrs. Morton's kindergarten class. There they taught them three common children’s songs, Old McDonald, ABC’s and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and had two girls playing the flute and guitar. The kindergarteners loved the visitors and tried very hard to learn the signs. By the end of the visit they were able to learn quite a few of the signs from the songs. The main signs they learned were:  twinkle, little, star, cow, horse, pig, chicken, cat dog, and sheep.  The eight graders loved teaching the little kindergartners.  They all thought they were so cute.

So, if you have a son, daughter or friend in either Mrs. Morton’s kindergarten or Mrs. Ritson’s ASL class, make sure you ask them about it.
