National Merit Semifinalists

Franklin Regional Senior High School (FRSH) is pleased to announce it has eight 2018 National Merit Scholarship Competition Semifinalists. The students receiving this honor are Ashley Li, Anisha Mandava, Scott Pike, Tony Qin, Alex Redling, Grace Scherpereel, Lily Wang, and Everest Yan.

About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high school across the nation entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship program by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represent less than one percent of US high school seniors. To advance to the finals, the semifinalist must submit a scholarship application and must have outstanding academic scores, be endorsed and recommended by a  high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT scores that confirm the student’s earlier parlance on the qualifying test.  The National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in April.
