The Franklin Regional School District supports quality instruction and learning that empowers all students to participate in an education that is engaged and equitable.  Many School districts in our region are investing in a 1 to 1 program to improve student learning.   Though the 1 to 1 program, the Franklin Regional plans to provide all students with equitable access to devices both at school and at home starting in August 2019.

The Franklin Regional School District will be utilizing FamilyID to sign the agreements and to pay for the Chromebook Insurance.  If you need assistance with registering for FamilyID, please scroll to the directions located on the bottom of this page.

Board Policy 224: Care of School Property
The following two agreements must be signed online or returned to the school in paper form before the Chromebook can be issued to the student.  

Chromebook Insurance

The Student and Parent/Guardian acknowledge that the Chromebook Insurance Fee is optional. The District strongly encourages payment of the Insurance Fee but does not require it prior to the Chromebook going home.

  • Insurance is $25 annually, per student with a family maximum of $50. 
  • Insurance is waived for families enrolled in the Free/Reduced lunch program. Families enrolled in this program receive the insurance free of charge.
  • Insurance covers the repair costs for the first two incidents of damage per year. Incidents of abuse or intentional damage are not covered by insurance and will result in the full repair cost being billed. 
  • Lost accessories such as power adapters are not covered by insurance.
  • The District has sole discretion over final determinations of insurance claims.
  • Damage incurred without purchasing insurance will result in the Student and Parent/Guardian being billed for the full cost of the repair.

When can I pick up my Chromebook? 

All students can come on any of the days and times listed below.  To
expedite the process, sign off on the forms online and make the insurance payment if you want coverage.

9th Grade -   Tuesday, August 6th, 2019    9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

10th Grade - Wednesday, August 7th, 2019    9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

11th Grade - Thursday, August 8th, 2019    9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

12th Grade - Friday, August 9th, 2019    9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

What is I cannot pick up my Chromebook on the date alloted?

Sign all of the forms (online or on paper), make the insurance payment (optional) and your child will be issued a Chromebook during the first two weeks of school.

Follow these steps:

  1. To find your program, click on the link provided by the Organization above and select the registration form under the word Programs.
  2. Next click on the green Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create Account/Log In green buttons. If this is your first time using FamilyID, click Create Account. Click Log In, if you already have a FamilyID account.
  3. Create your secure FamilyID account by entering the account owner First and Last names (parent/guardian), E-mail address and password. Select I Agree to the FamilyID Terms of Service. Click Create Account.
  4. You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your E-mail filters (spam, junk, etc.).
  5. Click on the link in your activation E-mail, which will log you in to FamilyID.com
  6. Once in the registration form, complete the information requested. All fields with a red* are required to have an answer.
  7. Click the Continue button when your form is complete.
  8. Review your registration summary.
